FC-8 putty is a light weight MEKP, catalyzed, Bonding Putty which is based on a proprietary mixture of rigid and flexible resins combined with light weight fillers and glass fibers. It is used to produce a strong putty with a cured specific gravity lower then
water.
This product is highly thixotropic (thick), easily spreadable but not heavy. It is suitable for a wide range of applications such as the boat building, boat repair automotive applications and general parts production where a strong, fast setting lightweight, polyester-based putty is applicable.
This putty will give consistent results and is best applied to green polyester surfaces. Also for polyester glass laminates which have gelled and slightly cured but not yet fully cured. If the putty is to be applied to aged cured polyester, wood, metal, or other substrates, the surface should be properly prepared, abraded, clean and free of any dirt or grease like substances.
